Band provides students with well-rounded, whole music education. Self-discipline, teamwork, organization skills and character development are among the many benefits a band program can provide. University High School offers several opportunities for musicians through marching band, concert band, wind ensemble, jazz band, small ensembles, pep band, and solos. The bands support many activities including athletic teams and school and community spirit. Students with musical interests and goals for success would enjoy the band. Ability to play an instrument is needed and some ensembles require an audition.

Band classes meet daily, plus some evenings and weekends throughout the year. Uniform fees and fall or spring tour fees are possible. All participants must do a part of the work at one of the many established fundraisers that involve little or no selling. Members must attend Band Camp. ASB CARD, Physical, no fines, Athletic Eligibility and signed Pride Code required.
