Dear Parents and Community: Welcome to University High School!

The University High School team prides itself on the relationships that are developed with students, staff, and community. We strive for continual improvement and live by the saying: “It’s another great day to be a Titan!”

University High School, established in 1962,  opened its doors at its new location at 32nd Ave & Pines in 2002. The building is a 240,000 square foot high school on 49 acres. Our high school is home to grades nine through twelve, with over 1700 students. Our students are served by approximately 95 certificated staff along with approximately 60 classified staff.

The staff is very committed to the Mission Statement for University High School:

At University High School, we believe all students can learn and show growth, as we prepare them for academic and career pathways. Together we support students' individual needs to develop grit, critical thinking skills, and perseverance to face future challenges.

Our building has infused the principles found in Dweck and Duckworth's research on growth mindset and grit, and like these authors, UHS believes that "people really can change." Our staff believes "that it's possible...to get smarter if you're given the right opportunities and support, and if you try hard enough, and if you believe you can do it" (Duckworth 180).

We are currently operating predominantly in a virtual environment, and we are constantly adapting to meet the newest protocols to ensure student safety, all the while preparing to welcome students back in our building as soon as possible. If you need to reach out to me, please contact my office at 558-6051.

Sincerely,
