Dear Parents and Community: Welcome to University High School!
The University High School team prides itself on the relationships that are developed with students, staff, and community. We strive for continual improvement and live by the saying: “It’s another great day to be a Titan!”
University High School is a 240,000 square foot high school on 49 acres that first opened its doors for students and staff in September of 2002. Our high school is home to grades nine through twelve, with over 1900 students. Our students are served by approximately 95 certificated staff along with approximately 60 classified staff.
The staff is very committed to the Mission Statement for University High School:
Preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s opportunities by providing an environment that fosters academic, social, technological, and personal growth.
Our building has infused the principles found in Dweck and Duckworth's research on growth mindset and grit, and like these authors, UHS believes that "people really can change." Our staff believes "that it's possible...to get smarter if you're given the right opportunities and support, and if you try hard enough, and if you believe you can do it" (Duckworth 180).
University High School welcomes parents and community members to visit at any time. As principal, I encourage you to spend "A Day in the Life" with me. If you are interested, please contact my office at 558-6051. This experience has been a eye-opener for the community members who have participated.
