What is Running Start?
Running Start is a Washington State program that allows eligible juniors and seniors to earn both high school and college credits by taking courses at SCC, SFCC or EWU. The tuition is free, but families have to pay the cost of books and college enrollment fees. Students who are a good fit for Running Start usually have a 3.0+ cumulative GPA and are ready to be exposed to college content. These students are typically self-motivated and need minimal parent engagement to attend class and complete homework.
Attending the Dual Enrollment/Running Start Information Night is highly encouraged. Individual meetings will not be scheduled for students who are unable to attend the information night but all information will be posted in the Class of 2028 and Class of 2027 Google Classroom.
